I cannot quite believe it but amongst all the press announcements stating that this film and that film is now going to be in 3D, Michael Bay is refusing to jump on the bandwagon. I hate myself for it but I respect the man for his fighting against the current trend.

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

Paramount and DreamWorks have officially announced that they will be making Transformers 3, and releasing the film on Friday, July 1st 2011. No word on if Michael Bay or stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are set to return, but I would be really surprised if it didn’t happen.

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

Here we go then the Synopsis has just been revealed for Transformers 3 The Dark of the Moon:

“The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.”

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

I thought Transformers 3 would be a shoe-in for being presented in 3D. Bay is a director ALL about the visuals – just look at the complete lack of storyline in Revenge Of The Fallen – but he’s insisting Transformers 3 will not be in 3D.

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

Bay has already decided not to shoot Transformers 3 in 3D in order to meet the July 1 release date, although he is said to have tried, ending up finding the cameras “too heavy and cumbersome for the fast pace action scenes he shoots.”
