Unveiling the first theatrical trailer of his forthcoming production venture, Delhi Belly, Aamir Khan says, “It’s a kamina comedy.” After the promo of the Abhinay Deo-directed comedy top-lining Imran Khan was played a couple of times at InterContinental hotel late Wednesday afternoon, the actor-producer further asserts, “This movie is not for kids,” and it’s “meant only for the young at heart.”
Interestingly, it’s the second time the actor-filmmaker has asked the Censor Board for an ‘A’ rating, as he didn’t want any cuts. The first was his wife Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat, which released earlier this year.
When asked if the Censor Board raised objections to the use of expletives in Delhi Belly, Aamir enthuses that the members of the reviewing committee “enjoyed the film to the fullest.” Not surprisingly, they agreed to issue an ‘A’ certificate without asking for anything to be toned down. He also made it clear that the film has “no skin show.”
Dismissing reports of differences with the director, Aamir maintained that Abhinay has done full justice to the film, which belongs to the genre of Hollywood movies like Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and The Hangover (2009).
The press meet couldn’t be complete without a mention of Aamir’s nephew and Delhi Belly’s lead actor. “Imran has great potential and is always hungry to learn more and more about his work. That primarily drives him to excel himself with every movie,” the uncle reiterats.
